Our Wines

Strength and Passion

Podere Ricciolino is located a few kilometers from the sea, between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, not far from the famous Viale dei Cipressi. Our story is recent, born from love and admiration for an extraordinary territory, immediately experienced with passion and respect for the environment, which led us to choose organic farming from the beginning.

The company strongly focuses on sustainability and utmost care for the environment and nature. The harvest is always manual, and the selection of grapes is also done strictly by hand. With enthusiasm and energy, we started this activity by creating a farm with a country house and about 10 hectares of land, 7 of which are already planted with vineyards.

As is common in the Bolgheri area, the planted varieties are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Vermentino. The current production is 8000 bottles per year, expected to increase with the new vineyards. Our wines reflect all the strength and passion we have poured into this adventure.

  • Grapes: 100% Vermentino
  • Soil: sandy clay with good calcium content
  • Year of planting: 2022
  • Training system: Guyot with 6–8 buds per plant
  • Plant density: 5050 plants per hectare
  • Cultivation type: organic vineyard
  • Harvest period: early September
  • Vinification: manually harvested, soft pressing, static must settling, aged on fine lees for five months, no malolactic, fermentation under 20°C
  • Production area: Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Livorno

Pietresco

  • Serving temperature: 16/18°C
  • Alcohol content: 13% vol
  • Aging potential: 10 years
  • First vintage: 2022
  • Bottles produced: 4000 (0.75l)
  • Grapes: 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 70% Cabernet Franc
  • Soil: sand, silt, clay, and limestone with good magnesium and calcium content
  • Year of planting: 2018
  • Training system: Guyot with 6–8 buds per plant
  • Plant density: 6250 plants per hectare
  • Cultivation type: organic vineyard
  • Harvest period: second decade of October
  • Vinification: hand-harvested, grape skins macerated at 28–32°C for 7 days, daily pumping-over and punch-downs, malolactic fermentation in steel. Aged partly in used barriques and partly in steel, followed by bottle refinement.
